The Franken Transactional Analysis Profile evaluates 10
personality dynamics, integrated with the 5 major components
of Transactional Analysis.
TRANSACTIONAL ANALYSIS: This model was developed by
Eric Berne, M.D., for understanding interpersonal relations. There
is an apparent overlay between the Parent-Adult-Child model of
Eric Berne and the earlier Superego-Ego-Id model. Berne expanded
the Parent ego state into "Nurturing Parent" and "Critical Parent".
He expanded the Id into "Natural Child" and "Adaptive Child".
The Franken Transactional Analysis Profile uses the following categories.

100 CRISS-CROSS QUESTIONS: This is a criss-cross test
in which two persons answer 100 questions for themselves,
and the same 100 questions regarding their partner.
(Pre) MARITAL ANALYSIS: The primary use of the Franken
Transactional Analysis Profile is for evaluating one’s personal
relationships and marriage counseling. This inventory examines
the flow of love and power which takes place in relationships.
However, the test is appropriate for any two-person relationship.
RELIABILITY and VALIDITY: The scientific reliability of this
test was evaluated by the "Statistical Package for the Social
Sciences" (SPSS). The Cronbach alpha coefficients for internal
reliability range from .674 to .812 with an average of .762 for the
ten categories. The Guttman Split-Half correlation is .834 and the
Spearman-Brown "equal-unequal" correlation is .836. Test-retest
validity reliability is .893. Construct validity is based on the TA model,
developed by Eric Berne, M.D., in Transactional Analysis in
Psychotherapy.
