GET CERTIFICATION THROUGH DISTANCE LEARNING
THIS IS THE DISTANCE LEARNING PROGRAM.
1. You will be trained to view CHARACTER as a combination of about 50 basic
and core values and lifeskills. These values and lifeskills have been identified
in the past 50 years by the social scientists as the most helpful. CHARACTER
is made up of that package, for the most part. You and those you teach, do
not need to be proficient in every factor to be a person of "character."
However, deficiencies in too many of the factors restricts and restrains
optimum "character" development. Business and Industry want persons
with higher character values / behaviors. Person with highest character
reduce business and industry cost. Train persons to be more marketable.
2. Two major trends permeate the training process. -- First, you will look
at your own VALUES and how they relate to your own pursuit of higher
levels of character. The social sciences constantly discover connections
betwen what persons VALUE and how they behave. There are enormous
benefits to higher values. You will learn of these benefits in the first
exercise of this course. --- Secondly, you will become familiar with most
of the major identifiable therapeutic skills that are used by counselors to
treat problems, only, those skills are now written as
OPTIMUM LIFESKILLS for OPTIMUM PERSONAL PERFORMANCE.
3. The length of the training period involves something like a 4 hour
semester course for 14 weeks. The schedule is your own. You may
proceed through the segments in a shorter time than 14 weeks, or
stretch it out if you have other responsibilities.
4. All materials you will need for the course you choose (2 choices below)
will be mailed to you: Outline of the course, Professor expectations,
Assignments, the textbook, the the Speed Learning Progam, 9 Power
Point Presentations on the most optimum Universal Values, and
two personality profiles (computer software). The total value of these
materials is nearly that of the cost of registration for the course.
5. You will be asked to take a short test at the end of each chapter. ---
Also, you will be asked to fill out a MICHIGAN 13 PERSONALITY PROFILE,
which is included. This will give you (and your future students or seminar
registrants the opportunity to evalutate themselves as well. You write us
about what you plan to do to upgrade any or all levels of 9 major
universal values identified by the Michigan 13 Personality Profile.
Each TEST will be graded and returned. You will also receive a grade
for the initiative you take during your GOAL- SETTING AND MENTORING
process which accompanies each chapter.
6. Our response to your "Homework-report" is our task of being TEACHER
and MENTOR. It will be sent back to you by email. It is a personal
"teacher-mentor" interaction with you. Initially, some of those "reports"
from us may also be by phone.
7. Since each person has different background of experience, training
and interest, the MENTORING part of DISTANCE LEARNING will be helpful.
Our learning process is not like history or literature, which you learn
without a change in behavior. Our learning process offers some laboratory
work, some personal involvement which is designed to have some affect
on upgrading your values, your lifeskills, your character. With personal
experience in this, you will be better able to inspire and help other
upgrade in counseling, in industry, in local agencies, in religious settings,
wherever you make a presentation. Mentoring and coaching
is a major new trend in current seminar training programs.
